Pumpkin Biscuits

I just love the smell of pumpkin roasting in the oven or a pumpkin pie just coming out of the oven.  I made these delicious Pumpkin Biscuits for a brunch that we had recently.  These were a big hit so I wanted to share them with you today.

Pumpkin Biscuits

Pumpkin Biscuits
Miz Helen's Kitchen
4 cups all purpose flour

2 teaspoons ginger
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup unsalted butter chilled and chopped
1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup buttermilk
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, and cayenne in a large bowl.  Cut the chilled butter into small pieces and cut the butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter.
Combine the pumpkin puree and honey and mix well
Combine the pumpkin puree honey mixture with the flour mixture stir until combined
Add the buttermilk and stir until all is combined
Roll our the biscuit dough on a lightly floured cutting board, cut the biscuits with a biscuit cutter
Place the biscuits in a lightly oiled pan
Bake 25 to 30 minutes
Serve hot or cool on a wire rack.

  15. I can't agree more with you - there's just something that says autumn as your kitchen fills with the aroma of baking pumpkin, which is why I can't seem to stop using it in recipes (as you likely have seen on your recent visits to Nom Yum & Free). :)
