Shhhhhh....this is a special Valentine's Day surprise for "honey". He is outside working in his shop today and I just called him in for lunch. I told him to go sit in his chair and rest for a minute and I would have lunch for him in a minute. I am just putting the finishing touches on this tray...ok lets take it in...
I know that all of you feel as I do that you have the very best guy in all the world, and I do. God truly blessed me with a wonderful husband. He is so supportive of me no matter what my latest venture is (blogging). So today I am serving him his favorite Quiche on a tray to his chair...he is gonna love it!
Let's Make The Quiche
Prepare The Turkey, Vegetables and Cheese
Layer The Prepared Filling Into An Unbaked Pie Crust
Prepare The Eggs, Milk and Seasons
Bake The Quiche
Let The Quiche Sit For Fifteen Minutes Then Slice
Enjoy!
Miz Helen's Kitchen
1 9" unbaked pie crust
2 cups shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
1 cup Smoked Turkey chopped
3/4 cup green chili's chopped
1/2 cup whole kernel corn
1/4 cup red bell pepper chopped
1/4 cup red onion chopped
1/2 cup fresh cilantro chopped
8 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/8 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
2 cups Evaporated Milk or Half and Half
Bake the unbaked pie crust at 350 degrees for 5 minutes and remove from the oven to cool.
Layer half of the cheese, turkey, chiles, corn bell pepper, onion, remaining cheese and cilantro in the partially baked crust.
In a mixing bowl beat the eggs, salt, garlic powder, cumin and Cayenne pepper. Add the milk or half and half.and beat well. Pour over the layers.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until Quiche is set. Cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
And This Rose Is For You
